We bet you haven’t watched all these great shows on Netflix so far this year. If you have, don’t be sad; even more Netflix originals are on the way, including Stranger Things 3, The Crown, Orange is the New Black and many more!

Let’s get the list started with the new Netflix original series When They See Us.

When They See Us

When They See Us premiered on Netflix on Friday, May 31, and it’s easily, easily, easily the best Netflix show of the year so far.

Created by Ava DuVernay, When They See Us tells the story of Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise, and Raymond Santana who were known to the general public as the Central Park Five.

In 1989, the five teenagers from Harlem were in Central Park the night a jogger was attacked and sexually assaulted. They were wrongfully charged and wrongfully convicted for the crime, although evidence and testimony clearly had shown these kids had nothing to do with the crime. They all spent time in prison until they were exonerated and released years later. This is their story.

When They See Us is a four-part limited series that feels more like a movie. It’s the most moving series on Netflix. Everyone should watch to see the flaws in the justice system, media, and the country as a whole.

The series has a phenomenal cast led by Jharrel Jerome, Ethan Herisse, Asante Blackk, Caleel Harris, Marquis Rodriguez, Vera Farmiga, Michael K. Williams, John Leguizamo, Dascha Polanco, Felicity Huffman, and Niecy Nash.
