Whiskey Cavalier is definitely a huge hit in 2019 but the series needs to move past the complex relationship between Will Chase (Scott Foley) and Frankie Trowbridge (Lauren Cohan) because we all know where this is headed.

While ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier has amazed us with some hilarious antics and suspense-driven adventures, there’s one aspect of the show that’s become tiresome all too quickly.

Only five episodes of the Whiskey Cavalier have aired so far but it’s become pretty clear that the series’ dynamic revolves around Agent Trowbridge (Cohan) and Agent Chase (Foley). They first encountered each other on the opposite end of a covert operation then wound up being partnered together on a joint task-force.

Since Frankie and Will have begun working together, they’ve become somewhat close. They aren’t in a relationship but it seems that way sometimes. Frankie and Will both keep finding themselves in awkward positions where they’re about to embrace each other, except, they don’t.

Even though Frankie and Will seem destined to become a couple, they always reject each other. The thing is, we know where this is headed.

So many television series use the typical “will they, won’t they” trope between two characters who are obviously going to become a couple at some point. Will and Frankie are a perfect example but maybe we can skip over this portion of their relationship.

David Hemingson and the Whiskey Cavalier writing staff clearly wrote the series to eventually build up to them becoming a thing, it’s about time they kiss and makeup. We don’t need another eight episodes of Will and Frankie debating whether or not they want each other when they’re meant to be together.

It’s anyone’s guess as to when these two Agents will succumb to their desires but the move needs to happen soon. Audiences have seen this type of multi-layered relationship before and won’t appeal for much longer if ABC keeps delaying the inevitable union.
