In danger: Arrested Development

Number of seasons: 5

Network it airs on: Netflix

What it’s about: When Michael Bluth’s father is sent to prison for a white-collar crime, Michael has no choice but to rune the family real estate business in Orange County. Of course, he doesn’t want to do this, especially when it means sticking around his family that is made up of eccentric and spoiled people.

The last thing Michael wants is for his teenage son, George Michel, from picking up the negative traits of the family. Michael tries to remain level-headed and a good role model for the teenager, but that doesn’t always work out.

Why it’s in danger of being canceled in 2019: Arrested Development season 5 may have only just dropped, but that doesn’t stop this show from being on the list. Many people will likely admit that they’ve thought this would be the last season for a while.

There are a few issues with the show, one of those being Jeffrey Tambor connected to it — the actor was in the middle of a scandal last year that led to him losing his lead role in the Amazon series Transparent. With the behind-the-scenes scandals, it’s possible that the fans of the show aren’t willing to continue to support it.

Right now, Netflix won’t make a decision. Had the scandals been enough, the show would have been canceled going into this season, similar to House of Cards. Netflix will want to see if the viewership is still there.

Another downside is cost. If there’s even a hint of people no longer tuning in, the show will come to an end because of cost.
