1. Deadly Class

If it was the fact The Umbrella Academy was based on a graphic novel that made you want to watch it, then Deadly Class is going to be right up your street. Just like the Netflix Original, Deadly Class started off as a graphic novel of the same name. Created by Remender and Wesley Craig, the graphic novel is published by Image Comics.

Deadly Class is set in the late 1980s and focuses on the Kings Dominion, an elite private academy. This academy, however, is unlike any other. The King’s Dominion focuses on turning their students into assassins.

It is not your typical run of the mill TV show. Some have described it as Harry Potter but with kid assassins rather than kids with magic. Full of surprises, it keeps you on edge from start to finish and has you clutching your sides with laughter every now and again as well.

It makes you want to come back again and again as these kids go from poison class in the morning to dart blowing in the afternoon, with the occasional PE lesson which involves hand to hand combat.

Starring Benedict Wong, Lana Condor, Luke Tennie, Marie Gabriela de Faria, the series is gritty and enthralling, visually stunning and the choreography is a masterpiece.

Currently, the series is being aired on the SYFY network, but depending on where you live, it will likely be coming to Netflix fairly soon. For example, those in Canada saw the SYFY Original Nightflyers added to Netflix Canada shortly after the season ended. No matter where you are in the world, keep an eye out on this one coming to Netflix at some point in the near future.
