Stranger Things 3: Every spoiler we know so far
Introducing new characters – the Mayor, a journalist and Robin
Speaking of new characters, this season will add more than just Heather to the mix. We’ll see another new high school kid joining the mix with Robin. She works with Steve and is portrayed by Maya Thurman-Hawke. Netflix at least gave us a look at the character with a teaser image so we have a little to go on.
When Variety reported the news, the description they were given was that “Hawke will play an “alternative girl” bored with her mundane day job. She seeks excitement in her life and gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers a dark secret in Hawkins, Ind.”
Does that mean she’ll find out about the Upside Down? Could she wind up being a love interest for Steve since he and Nancy split? Much like the lifeguard, Heather, the description is just vague enough to let us know that this season will certainly be dark.
As for the Mayor of Hawkins, that should be an interesting one. It is hard to imagine that they haven’t had anything to say until now about what’s been going on in the previously quiet midwest town. Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride) is set to play Mayor Kline and he won’t necessarily be an advocate for the city and the people who live in Hawkins.
While we saw Murray Bauman before, this season we’ll get a foul-mouthed journalist, played by Jake Busey. In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Busey describes the character as crass. This character sounds like he’ll be a fun addition to the show. Are you as excited as I am for even more characters in this show?
