Lucifer is set for its big comeback on Netflix this year after the streaming service saved the show, but just when will Lucifer season 4 be released?

Lucifer season 4 finished filming earlier this year, and since then, the cast and crew have been teasing fans with images of episode editing and ADR sessions. A release date for the new season has yet to be announced.

It seems that since the show was saved by Netflix, the streaming network is ramping up the suspense as much as possible when it comes to knowing details of the upcoming season. The fans were the ones who ultimately saved the show and pushed Netflix to take on the series, so it seems only fair that they give the fans a little special treatment when it comes to season 4.

The cast even united the other week to do a secret project with Netflix regarding Lucifer, which only made fans speculate further with the main prediction being that they were either doing promotional photos or something to do with the release date.

While we don’t know the release date yet, we have a few guesses for when Lucifer season 4 will premiere.

April

Given the time that was taken from when filming began in August to completion of ADR and final cutting of all of the episodes, a logical release date for the new season would be some time in April. This was also backed up when Aimee Garcia (Ella Lopez) let slip that the release date could be in April.

However, when one fan tweeted Netflix asking about the announcement for the release date, one of Netflix’s partner Twitter’s came back with a response that had Many fans puzzled and thinking up other possibilities for a release date.

May 10

After the tweet from See What’s Next, fans began to think that the date would have more meaning to it. What date could have more meaning than May 10? It would be exactly one year from when Fox canceled Lucifer. That’d be the perfect way to troll Fox a little bit.

Lauren German teased the May release when she responded to a comment by one of the fans on her most recent Instagram post that also features Garcia.

June 15

Given that one prediction is the anniversary of when Fox canceled the show, it would only make sense that our final prediction is the anniversary of when Netflix announced that they had saved the show. It would almost be like a birthday. When Angel’s fall, they also rise.

What a better way to rise than exactly a year on from being saved? It would certainly make See What’s Next’s tweet even more relevant if this was the date.

While we do not yet know for certain just when we’ll see the new season of Lucifer come to Netflix, fans can keep speculating and hoping that it’ll not be too much longer to wait.

In the meantime, seasons 1-3 are available to watch on Netflix US and are expected to come to Netflix UK in the not too distant future.
