Norsemen follows Vikings as they go through life in 790s Norway. The city of Norheim is the place that is focused on the most. But if you are thinking this is like the hit TV series Vikings, think again.

This is a comedy showing the day-to-day lives of the people in Norheim and the problems that they face. As the series goes on, other nearby villages come into play, including a rival town that wants to make Norheim more modern. A fact that the people of Norheim are none too happy with.

Norsemen stars Kare Conradi, Nils Jørgen Kaalstad, Silje Torp, Trond Fausa, Øystein Martinsen, Jon Øigarden, Marian Saastad Ottesen, Kristen Riis, Mikkel Bratt Silset, Nikis Theophilakis, Bjorn Myrene, Christian Skolmen, Erik Aleksander Schjerven, Ingar Helge Gimle, Finn Schau, Richard Skog, and Egil Birkeland.

Despite being a comedy, Norsemen shows the Viking village go through social change, new innovations being invented as well as political rivalries being fought between the villages. While Game of Thrones may not have as many humorous moments, it definitely also shows social change and boatloads of political rivalries.

Norsemen also includes romances, betrayals, battles, and a fight for gender equality, all things that Game of Thrones also shows in one way or another. Norsemen (or Vikingane as it is called in Norway) is in English despite it being shot in Norway and having mostly Norwegian actors. The show starts off with Rufus, a Roman, being kidnapped and enslaved in Northeim.

While he was considered to be somebody in the place he came from, in Northeim, he is no one special. Through his stay in the village, the audience sees what life is like everyday for the Vikings. Your knowledge of Vikings may have you think they were a serious bunch, but with this show, we get to see their comedic side!
