Is Sister, Sister on Netflix?

Although a number of high-profile series have recently left Netflix (looking right at you, Friends and The Office), a handful of shows that aren’t as high-profile but are as equally loved by fans have found a new home on Netflix. Black sitcoms like Moesha, Girlfriends, The Parkers and more started streaming throughout 2020, bringing some of them to a streaming service for the first time. While they are all worth sticking around Netflix for, Sister, Sister just might hit you with the most nostalgia.

Tia and Tamera Mowry star in Sister, Sister as twin sisters Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell, who were separated at birth and adopted into different families. However, when Tia and Tamera find each other almost 15 years later, they convince their single parents Ray (Tim Reid) and Lisa (Jackée Harry) to move in together, making the girls family for the first time. The sitcom follows their misadventures as a new family and the issues they face as young adults.

Sister, Sister premiered in 1994 on ABC, where it aired its first two seasons before moving to The WB for four additional seasons. The series became the first show on the network to cross the 100 episodes threshold and later became a syndication hit on the Disney Channel, where most millennials probably grew up watching the hit sitcom. A potential revival had been on the table, though plans seemed to have been put on hold. But it’s never too late to relive the laughs on Netflix, the only place to watch the ’90s staple online.
