Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 6: Where is the Halloween heist episode?

The sixth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine has yet to feature a Halloween-themed episode this year and fans are concerned. Will there be one at all?

We’re well into the sixth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine but we’ve yet to see a Halloween themed episode. Every season so far has featured one dedicated to the holiday heist and season six should’ve aired one by now.

Between Season 1 and Season 5, the Halloween specials all aired within the first six episodes of the season premiere. The episode may just be delayed for season six but there’s also a chance that Dan Goor and the Nine-Nine writing staff decided to put an end to the Halloween heist.

Considering how last year’s event ended, it would be appropriate to retire the Halloween heist before the event becomes tiresome. The most recent and presumably last spectacular ended with Jake (Andy Samberg) proposing to Amy (Melissa Fumero) so that could be the final stamp on the game.

However, the competitiveness of Jake, Amy, and Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) won’t allow for the game to end without a definitive winner. And to be fair, the count is fairly even among them so a tiebreaker is necessary. Jake won the first competition, Holt took the second win, Amy got the third, Gina manufactured a sneaky plan to win the fourth round, and last year’s ended with Jake’s proposal to Amy.

Since neither of them claimed the title in season five, the win count is even amongst them all. Because of this, a final competition should be waged to determine who the most brilliant Detective/Genius in the Nine-Nine really is.

The concern now is whether or not the writers of Brooklyn Nine-Nine have written one up for this year’s season. An episode list for the upcoming three are vaguely labeled but none of them reference Halloween—unless episode seven “The Honeypot” is referring to Winnie The Pooh and someone dressed as the iconic character. Keep in mind that all previous installments have been titled “Halloween”.

The good news is that Season Six will consist of eighteen episodes, which means the Halloween Heist episode could air later into the season. Hopefully, we’re correct because it would be a shame to see NBC ditch a cornerstone of Brooklyn Nine-Nine that we’ve all come to love.
