New Breaking Bad movie is coming to Netflix

A Breaking Bad movie from creator Vince Gilligan is coming to Netflix and AMC. Filming started on the project in November in New Mexico, but few details about the film have been announced.

Remember the Breaking Bad movie being filmed in New Mexico that’s probably going to focus on Jesse Pinkman’s post-Breaking Bad story? Well, it looks like that movie will be headed to Netflix.

Deadline is reporting the new Breaking Bad movie will be available to stream on Netflix.

Details, including the release details, are scarce at this point, but Deadline is reporting that Netflix is partnering with AMC to make the film with Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. Netflix will likely release the film first, and then it will be available to stream on AMC. That’s basically the reverse of how it usually works.

The film started production last fall under the name Greenbriar, according to the report. We still don’t know if Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul or the rest of the cast is involved in the project. As mentioned, little is known about the plot or who is involved with the project. We’ll be sure to let you know more when we find out.

Overall, this is a great move by Netflix. As Deadline mentions, Netflix basically saved Breaking Bad. Over the first two seasons, ratings were poor, and AMC was probably going to cancel the show. The series became very popular on Netflix, and fans were able to catch up in the later seasons as the show when on to become one of the best shows of all time.

With Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul available to stream on Netflix, there are tons of fans of this world, and the film is a great way to give fans what they want.
