Danai Gurira will leave The Walking Dead in season 10. Her exit follows fellow cast members Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan.

The Walking Dead is coming back for season 10, but one of your favorite characters won’t be sticking around very long. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Danai Gurira, who stars as Michonne in the series, will leave The Walking Dead during season 10.

The report also mentions she won’t be around much. While we don’t know her official episode count, THR claims she’ll only appear in a “handful” of season 10’s episodes.

It’s a bummer for fans of the series, especially those who have loved her character since she appeared in season 3 of the hit series. It’s not all bad news from THR, though.

According to the report, Gurira has signed on for the three Walking Dead movies, along with her former co-star Andrew Lincoln. We still don’t know much about those projects, but it appears she is not completely done with Michonne yet.

I don’t know how surprising this news is, really. Gurira has become a huge star with the success of The Walking Dead, Black Panther, and Avengers: Infinity War. She’s definitely going to be in Avengers: Endgame and Black Panther 2, and she’ll probably be a bunch of other major movies in the near future. She’s given a huge part of her professional life to The Walking Dead, and it looks like she’s ready for a new challenge.

Michonne has always been my favorite character in the series, so it’s tough to see her leave. I’ll always be a fan and watch any and all of her other movies and shows. She’s outstanding in every role I’ve seen her in so far.

This is a developing story, and we’ll be sure to keep you posted on Gurira’s future with The Walking Dead and her other projects in the future.

The Walking Dead season 9 will be added to Netflix later this year. We haven’t heard when exactly, but it’s looking like September will be the release month on Netflix. Stay tuned!
