Grey’s Anatomy deals with the Owen drama, Katherine’s (possible) final surgery, and Meredith’s love triangle in this week’s episode.

Grey’s Anatomy keeps chugging along this week in the aftermath of the storm that traumatized Grey Sloan Memorial. Things are in quite a disarray considering all the things that are going on at the moment. DeLuca is actively trying to pursue Meredith, Koracick and Amelia are working on Catherine’s treatment plan, and Bailey is finally at the therapist. Not to mention, Richard is attending meetings and trying to look for a new sponsor.

Considering Teddy is going to stick around Seattle, she is in desperate need of a job. There’s just one slight problem, however. Not many people are big fans of hers (including anyone loyal to Amelia) and she vents all of this to Bailey who isn’t even Chief at the moment. Bailey redirects her to Alex and says that he is the man Teddy should speak to regarding a job.

In the middle of all of this, Meredith was trying to plan her son’s birthday party and didn’t have much help. She’s also on Catherine’s crap list after she told Maggie about Catherine’s cancer. As a result, Catherine does not want Meredith working with her on her current case. Meredith continues to find herself in the middle of a love triangle, although it seems like DeLuca is more desperate than Link.

It doesn’t come as a surprise either because Link and DeLuca are two completely different people. While Link takes life one step at a time, DeLuca is way more emotional. This is proven as Meredith, Link, and Jo wait for a patient and Link is calm and collect the entire time. When their patient arrives, they learn that she fell off a hotel balcony the day before her wedding.

More from Netflix Life

Link continues to prove himself during this episode of Grey’s Anatomy as he treats this patient with a lax approach. At some point, Meredith questions his entire approach until he ends up proving he knew what he was doing all along. We learn a little more about Link’s past, well, sort of, when Jo accidentally reveals he once had cancer.

Meredith continues to be impressed by Link when he offers to help her out with Bailey’s birthday party. Someone that was supposed to play the Hulk ended up bailing last minute and Link said he’d be more than happy to help out.

Fast forward to them being all cute and adorable and setting up the birthday party. I think they should be together (even though I personally think DeLuca is way cuter).

Of course, this wouldn’t be an episode of Grey’s Anatomy without some sort of dramatic love triangle. Owen is annoyed to learn that Teddy didn’t mention wanting a job at Grey Sloan, and the two began bickering as Amelia eavesdropped from a distance. He accidentally refers to being with Amelia as a “crap situation”–ouch, not cool, Owen!

Luckily, Teddy had some more luck with Maggie, who only gave her a hard time briefly before considering to help her out. She was able to put aside the fact that her allegiances lie with Amelia because she knows how talented Teddy is in her field. At least someone knows how to be professional!

Romance problems aren’t the only thing Owen deals with during this episode of Grey’s Anatomy, unfortunately. While prepping for surgery to fix a ruptured bowel, Owen is accidentally injected with a paralytic. Side note: He was walking around with an IV because he had the flu but didn’t want to stop working. A nurse accidentally confused the IV lines and thus it resulted in him being given the paralytic rather than the patient.

Because Hunt was out cold and needed some help with breathing, Levi took over the responsibility of watching over him while DeLuca continued on with the surgery. Not only did he finish the surgery, but he passed with flying colors according to Alex who was more than impressed at DeLuca stepping up. Meanwhile, Teddy walks by Owen in the hospital bed and panics thinking something is wrong. Eventually, he does come to and Teddy starts to spill the beans about her true feelings. Oh, Grey’s Anatomy, you are nothing without your sentimental moments.

She feels like everyone is blaming her and she wants it to stop. In the spur of the moment, Owen gives Teddy his job so she can stay and not have to worry about working with anyone that might give her a hard time. I have to admit that at this point in the episode, I was really confused what Owen was thinking and what he actually wanted.

Even after her cancer diagnosis, Catherine wasn’t willing to sit on the sidelines and be down about it. Instead, she decided to partake in a groundbreaking surgery alongside Richard and Jackson, who weren’t too pleased with her decision to do this at all. From the gallery, Maggie worried about Catherine being able to do the surgery and whether or not Jackson and Richard had even come to terms with what was going on.

The surgery took a drastic turn when Catherine wasn’t able to pull off the surgery–with no fault to her at all. It turns out that the patient’s uterus had undergone extensive damage from radiation, and it had to be removed. Of course, this is the opposite of what the surgery was supposed to do, but there no other options.

Heartbroken at how the surgery turned out, Catherine was pretty down in the dumps and it didn’t help that Richard and Jackson were attacking her about hiding her cancer from them. She told Koracick and Meredith after all, so why not them? She makes a fair point as she breaks down saying that they make everything seem too real–come on guys, give her a break.

After all the Teddy drama, Owen finally confronted Amelia and said that he wanted them to work and that he missed them. It is her that he wants to be with, and even with Teddy working at Grey Sloan and having his child, they will be alright. Finally!

Let’s just say things ended on an “ooooh” moment as Meredith and Link continued to flirt and hit it off. Too bad DeLuca’s text went unnoticed asking Meredith to meet up after he was riding high from his solo surgery. Sorry DeLuca, you may have just been kicked out of this love triangle once and for all.
