The Ranch: Sam Elliott nominated for Oscar for A Star is Born role

The Ranch’s Sam Elliott was nominated for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in A Star is Born along with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

Sam Elliott, who stars as the fan favorite Beau Bennett in Netflix’s The Ranch, was nominated for an Oscar for his role in A Star is Born. The nominees were announced on Tuesday, Jan. 22. We’ll find out if Elliott wins the Oscar on Sunday, Feb. 24 on ABC.

Elliott is joined by Mahershala Ali of Green Book, Adam Driver of BlacKkKlansman, Richard E. Grant of Can You Ever Forgive Me? and Sam Rockwell of Vice in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category.

While this is one of the tougher categories, Elliott does have a good chance to win the award. Ali, who Netflix fans will recognize from House of Cards and Marvel’s Luke Cage, is the favorite to win the award for his role opposite Viggo Mortensen in Green Book. 

Elliott and Ali were not the only Netflix stars to be up for Oscars this year. In fact, Netflix was nominated for 15 Oscars, total, and 13 feature film Oscars. Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma is Netflix’s first Best Picture nominee, and the film was nominated for 10 Oscars this year, the most ever for a Netflix movie.

Elliott has been getting a lot of press for his role in A Star is Born, one of the year’s best and most popular movies. In a recent interview, he revealed The Ranch season 4 is expected to be the final season of the Netflix series. Obviously, that’s bad news for fans of the show, but the show has already started filming the fourth season.

There are 20 new episodes in the fourth season of the series, and they are expected to be released in two, 10-episode parts in June 2019 and December 2019, respectively. We’ll be sure to let you know more about The Ranch season 4 when we find out.
