Netflix predicts You on Netflix will reach over 40 million member views in a matter of days!

When it comes to numbers, Netflix is extremely secretive. All lips are sealed and ratings are kept from the public for both movies and TV shows, whether they are Netflix Originals or not. However, whenever the streaming giant has a huge win, they can’t help but share a few details about their success. Because, who doesn’t love to brag?

Netflix’s latest pride and joy? The psychological drama, You! According to a tweet from See What’s NextYou will cross 40 million views from members before the end of January.

This is not, of course, Netflix’s first big success. The streaming service has had several hits. You, though, is a special win. The saying “one person’s trash is another person’s treasure” couldn’t be truer when it comes to the drama (just replace “person” with “network”).

If you didn’t know You‘s history, here’s a quick summary of the series amazing journey…

You debuted on Lifetime and was quickly promised a second season. Unfortunately, not enough of the network’s viewers cared to watch so Lifetime canceled it, killing its season 2 plans. Well, Netflix streamed the first season and, amazed by how many people jumped to watch, adopted Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) — and season 2 is coming later this year!

According to See What’s Next on Twitter, the series is “on track to be viewed by more than 40 million members in its first four weeks on Netflix.”

Entertainment Weekly reports that the four-week mark is on Jan. 23. Did you contribute to the near 40 million viewers? If not, what are you waiting for?

Another recent win for Netflix is Sandra Bullock’s Bird Box. The horror drama was reportedly watched by over 80 million member households. The movie, which also stars Trevante Rhodes and Sarah Paulson, is also responsible for countless memes on Twitter.

Netflix is definitely starting out 2019 strong. What has been your favorite show or movie so far this year?
