You season 2 is officially happening at Netflix. The series starring Penn Badgley moves from Lifetime to Netflix for season 2.

You on Netflix is one of the biggest and most popular shows in the world right now. The first season of the former Lifetime series was added to the streaming service around the world at the end of December. While it took a few weeks, this show has created a firestorm on social media and is benefitting from everyone talking about this series.

If you’re a fan of this series, we also have some good news to share: You season 2 is officially happening at Netflix! This isn’t exactly “new” news, but because the second season renewal was announced before anyone knew about this series, it seems like a good time to mention that you’ll be able to catch back up with Joe (Penn Badgley) and the rest of this story sometime soon.

As mentioned, You was a Lifetime series when it started, but after poor ratings, most likely, Lifetime was going to end this series after the first season. But, that’s where Netflix stepped in. Netflix has picked up a full second season as an original series, and that season will be released on the streaming service everywhere around the world at the same time.

We still haven’t heard when You season 2 is coming to the streaming service. The first season premiered on Lifetime in the fall of 2018, and it was renewed for season 2 at Netflix before the first season hit the streaming service. Based the previous season’s release date, it seems likely that season 2 will be added to Netflix sometime in the fall of 2019.

The release date for the new season won’t be announced for a while. If it does return this fall, you can expect the show’s return to be announced sometime this summer.
