Whenever our favorite shows come to an end, it's always a bittersweet parting. On the one hand, we wish we could watch new episodes of shows we love forever, but on the other, we know that all good things must come to an end. It's what every Stranger Things fan is currently going through after the emotional series finale packed a punch and still left us wanting more.

Unfortunately, the endings aren't over just yet for Netflix shows. The upcoming year will have more than a few fan-favorite series saying goodbye with their final seasons. Survival of the Thickest and The Witcher will both return with their last batch of episodes, but the saddest goodbye will definitely be parting ways with the Pogues in Outer Banks season 5.

There's still a fair amount of waiting to go until those three beloved Netflix shows drop their final seasons, but the goodbyes begin already in January 2026 with the releases of two final seasons back to back. Family sitcom The Upshaws and reality show staple Queer Eye are both delivering their last feel-good moments in the coming month.

The Upshaws and Queer Eye final season release dates on Netflix

First up, The Upshaws part 7, otherwise known as season 5, kicks off Netflix's new year of final seasons on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026. The hit family sitcom starring Mike Epps, Kim Fields, and Wanda Sykes releases its most episodes at once to date. Rather than splitting up the 12-episode final run into two six-episode parts, Netflix releases the full season for an optimal farewell binge-watch.

One last time, The Upshaws catches up with the Upshaw family in all their imperfect glory after years of various ups and downs. From health scares to relationship troubles to blended family conflicts, all it comes down to these 12 episodes that are sure to make us belly laugh like usual. But we're also prepared to bawl our eyes out when the series finale hits us right in the feelings.

Keeping the bittersweetness going, Netflix set a release date for Queer Eye season 10, the final season of the Emmy Award-winning reality series, one week after The Upshaws ends. The last hurrah for the Fab Five arrives on Wednesday, Jan. 21. The revival series has made history on Netflix, becoming the streamer's longest-running unscripted series to date.

The final season of Queer Eye finds Antoni Porowski, Jeremiah Brent, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, and Tan France helping a new group of individuals in Washington D.C. better their lives. While past seasons have had up to 10 episodes, it's been rumored that the final season will have a significantly reduced episode count, with only five episodes remaining until the end.

No matter how long we have left with either show, it's still going to sting when we finish binge-watching. Thankfully, The Upshaws and Queer Eye will remain on Netflix for our rewatching pleasure whenever we need a pick me up. Be sure not to miss The Upshaws part 7 on Jan. 15 and Queer Eye season 10 on Jan. 21 only on Netflix!
