There is only one issue with Netflix's live-action series Avatar: The Last Airbender. The name might confuse some who are not already in the know. Is this a take on Avatar? No. Is this a take on an M. Night Shyamalan movie? Also, no.

The series is a take on the classic animated series, but something about having real humans involved adds an element of fun. Can the characters still bend one of the four classical elements—fire, water, air, and earth? Yep, but it somehow seems more real in live-action.

The first season of the Netflix show aired in February 2024. Two months later, we knew there would be more seasons. The second season just wrapped production, but production on Season 3 is already underway.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 production has wrapped

The plot for Season 2 is not known. The creators want it to be kept secret, which makes sense. The first season was met with mixed reviews, so maybe not revealing too much builds the intrigue.

Season 1 was about the Last Airbender, Aang, trying to stop the Fire Nation from violently taking over the world. Did he do it? Well, there is a Season 2, so maybe not entirely.

We know who makes up the cast of Season 2, plus a couple of the new actors for Season 3. Season 2's cast is made up of the following (along with some of the stars of Season 1):

  • Gordon Cormier as Aang
  • Kiawentiio as Katara
  • Ian Ousley as Sokka
  • Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko
