Breakdown of Marius's storyline in XO, Kitty season 3

Marius has been mentioned before in XO, Kitty. Q once told Juliana in season 2 that he had a roommate named Marius, whom he was secretly hooking up with during their sophomore year at KISS. He also mentioned that Marius had a girlfriend at the time. Yes, this is the same Marius. Now, we get to finally meet him.

Marius is first introduced in the second episode of XO, Kitty season 3. He used to be roommates with Q, Dae, and Min Ho before he left for some unknown reason. He arrives at KISS on his sleek black motorcycle, and it's obvious right away that Marius is confident, charismatic, and not afraid to make his presence known. It's also made clear right away that he's going to cause some issues between Kitty and Min Ho.

While Kitty wants to scratch one of the things off of her "Senior Sunset List," Marius basically comes in and convinces everyone to attend his senior party. This was the first sign that he was a pot-stirrer. But he doesn't just bother Kitty. He also constantly pesters Q. When Marius first arrives at KISS, Q asks him to switch rooms. However, Marius insists on staying put.

Q wants nothing to do with Marius because things didn't end well between them, but Marius continues to bother him even knowing that he has a boyfriend. Throughout most of the season, Marius pretty much acts as an antagonist to Kitty and Q. He contacts Min Ho's first love to make Kitty jealous and insecure, and he basically blackmails Q about an inappropriate photo that he sent him over the summer.

We finally see a softer side of Marius when he, Kitty, and the rest of their friend group go to Lotte World for their senior trip. After witnessing Q and Jin kiss and confess their love for one another, Marius walks away and finds a spot to sit down. Kitty finds him, and they end up having a heart-to-heart conversation where Marius expresses why he's been acting the way he has towards her and Q. It's all because he didn't like how Kitty was messing things up between him and Q.

He wants to fix things with Q and get back with him, but now he's starting to lose hope that Q will ever forgive him or give their relationship another chance. After talking to Kitty, Marius then comes clean to Q about his intentions. Although he's surprised, Q decides to still focus on his relationship with Jin. He doesn't really give Marius the time of day until things become rocky between him and Jin.

Q and Marius then go on a bike trip to their old hangout spot. Marius tells Q that he wants another chance, but Q turns him down after reminding him of why things went sour between them in the first place. It's because Marius made it seem like they were going to be a real couple back then, but then he ghosted Q shortly after. Q tells Marius that they're both different people now and that he wants to be Jin.

The door is then officially closed to any possible romantic relationship between them. While Marius isn't happy about this, he gets over it by the end of the season. In fact, he, Q, and Jin even end up being friendly with one another.

Hopefully, we get to see Marius again if there is to be an XO, Kitty season 4. Although he was annoying at first, he definitely added an exciting layer of drama and unpredictability to season 3.

XO, Kitty season 3 is now on Netflix.
