Beatty plays the titular Lizzie Borden, a woman who was accused of killing her father and stepmother with an axe in 1892. Going into a new season of Murphy's anthology series, which is completely written by Ian Brennan this time around just like season 3, you never really know what to expect. Monster has been known to fictionalize and sensationalize the facts of its true stories just a bit for the sake of entertainment, and that's expected to happen again with The Lizzie Borden Story.

It's going to be interesting to see how the series factors in other female "monsters" Elizabeth Báthory and Aileen Wuornos since they are in completely different time periods than Lizzie Borden. Perhaps their full stories will be told in future seasons, and their appearances in season 4 are part of a broader exploration of women accused of or charged for killing. One thing's for sure: It will be entertaining!
