We still have a lot of new stuff to watch on Netflix in 2025. Who doesn't want to watch Zero Day or RIP, for instance? Netflix subscribers do not even know yet how much they will enjoy some of the new releases, only that we will be highly entertained. 2026 likely will work the same way.
Two series that we already know will affect Netflix's schedule next year are Boyfriend on Demand and The Walking Dead: Dead City. One is going to be a new arrival on the streamer. The other has not yet even arrived, but is already scheduled to leave unless there are changes.
The one coming to viewers next year is K-drama Boyfriend on Demand. It is a romance that does an interesting take on the dating game. The crutch is that a female can sign up for a subscription simulator (we assume) that allows her to date someone for one month before deciding to move on to a different boyfriend of the month.
Two must-see series will affect what you see on Netflix in 2026
The series was originally expected to be part of the programming on Korea's MBC, but will be seen on Netflix instead. It will star Kim Jisoo, who is a member of the band BLACKPINK. She is not new to acting, though. She has had lead roles in K-dramas Newtopia and Snowdrop.
The boyfriend will be played by Seo In Guk (as Park Gyeong Nam). He will not be new to Netflix viewers as he previously appeared in Café Minamdang.
There is no set release date, but production is already underway, so a 2026 release is to be expected. It seems as if it might simply be another cog in the fantastic Korean series and movie-making machine.
As far as The Walking Dead: Dead City, it was previously released on AMC as the first true sequel to The Walking Dead. The story follows two of the characters from the fantastically beloved original series, Maggie and Negan. It was expected to land on Netflix as late as January 2025, but the date was pushed back. It is now set to be released in March.
The issue is that, at this point, we know the show will be leaving in March of 2026. That is because Netflix has an agreement with AMC to stream a limited number of series but for only one calendar year. If Dead City starts in March, it will be gone by next March.
