We’ve all been there. You open Netflix, scroll for what feels like forever, and somehow still end up watching that same comfort show for the tenth time. But not this week. Netflix will be dropping a mix of new and returning series that are way too good to ignore.
Whether you’re in the mood for something dark and twisty or just pure escapist fun, these five shows are the ones everyone’s going to be talking about, and trust us, they’re absolutely worth clearing your schedule for.

The Asset
- Netflix release date: Oct. 27, 2025
The Asset is one of the new Netflix shows coming out this week. In fact, it was actually released today. It's a Danish crime drama consisting of six episodes. The series follows an untested intelligence officer named Tea, who goes undercover to infiltrate a powerful criminal network that’s managed to stay one step ahead of the authorities for years.
Assuming a brand-new identity, Tea’s mission is to get close to the organization’s leader by befriending his girlfriend, Ashley. But as she becomes more entangled in their dangerous world and begins to understand the emotional toll it’s taken on Ashley, Tea starts to question where her true loyalties lie.
Clara Dessau stars as Tea. Also in the cast are Maria Cordsen, Afshin Firouzi, Nicolas Bro, Soheil Bavi, and Arian Kashef.
Rulers of Fortune
- Netflix release date: Oct. 29, 2025
Next up is Rulers of Fortune. It's another crime drama, but this time it revolves around the criminal underworld of Rio de Janeiro and its gambling operations, which is on the verge of chaos. With the criminal underworld facing a massive shake-up, longtime power players scramble to keep their empires intact.
The looming legalization of gambling threatens to destroy the old order, while a foreign crime syndicate sets its sights on Rio’s thriving underground market. Amid the turmoil, a rising figure named Profeta emerges, threatening to take over everything. Those who watched Netflix's steamy teen drama Elite will recognize the lead actor, André Lamoglia. He stars in the role of Profeta. The cast also includes Chico Diaz, Giullia Buscaccio, Juliana Paes, Mel Maia, and Xamã.

Selling Sunset season 9
- Netflix release date: Oct. 29, 2025
And we're back! Who's ready to see the Oppenheim Group in all its glamorous, chaotic glory? Selling Sunset is returning with a brand-new season, and you know what that means. You can expect more jaw-dropping luxury listings, jaw-dropping wardrobe choices, and even more drama between the agents you love (or love to hate). Based on the season 9 trailer, it looks like we'll be seeing Emma talking to an old fling from the past. However, her BFF Chrishell doesn't seem too happy about it.
Meanwhile, Nicole is stirring up drama once more, with a clip showing Amanza telling her she needs to leave the restaurant where the group is having dinner. Then, there's Mary. Her house has been burglarized, so it looks like that might be a big part of her storyline this season. Selling Sunset season 9 doesn't look like a season you want to miss!
Amsterdam Empire

If you've missed X-Men's Famke Janssen, you'll be glad to know she's starring in a new Netflix crime drama called Amsterdam Empire. The first season of the Dutch series consists of seven episodes. In it, Janssen stars as Betty, a woman with vengeance on her mind.
It all begins when Betty discovers her husband Jack van Doorn’s affair and realizes just how deeply he’s deceived her. Fueled by betrayal and a desire for justice, she begins plotting her revenge, using her knowledge of his secrets and weaknesses to turn the tables. She wants to take everything Jack has, even his beloved coffee shop empire. Joining Janseen in the cast as Jack is Jacob Derwig.

The Witcher season 4
- Netflix release date: Oct. 30, 2025
The Witcher is finally back, and fans can expect more danger, intrigue, and monster-hunting action than ever before. Season 4 dives deeper into the Continent’s sprawling conflicts, testing Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer in ways that will push their skills, loyalties, and morals to the limit.
This season, we'll see our favorite trio face unprecedented challenges as they are separated by war and pursued by countless enemies. Along the way, each will encounter unexpected allies, confront new threats, and make choices that will shape their destinies. Instead of Henry Cavill continuing as Geralt, the role has passed to Liam Hemsworth, bringing a fresh take on the stoic monster hunter. However, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan return in their respective roles as Yennefer and Ciri.
