As all the summer blockbuster begin hitting the big screen, the countdown has officially begun for Tom Holland to reprise his role as Peter Parker next month. Our favorite web-slinging superhero is back in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but Holland's take on the character began almost 10 years ago in the fan-favorite franchise reboot Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Before Spider-Man: Brand New Day premieres in theaters on July 31, there's no doubt that fans will be racing to complete another rewatch of the first three movies. After all, five years have passed since Spider-Man: No Way Home arrived with an epic blast from Spider-Men past. But watching the movie that started this new era with a bang just got a lot easier thanks to Netflix.
Spider-Man: Homecoming begins streaming on Netflix in July
According to Netflix's official page for the movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming begins streaming on the platform in the United States on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The movie has been available on Netflix in the past but has since been exclusively available to stream on Disney+ along with its two sequels Far From Home and No Way Home, which aren't currently expected to hit Netflix.

In that regard, it's a bummer for Netflix subscribers who don't also have Disney+ and were hoping to complete a full rewatch of all three movies before Brand New Day premieres later the same month. As a consolation, however, Netflix US does have all three of the original live-action Spider-Man movies starring Tobey Maguire. Those are mostly unrelated to Sony's MCU movies, but it's something!
Spider-Man: Homecoming first hit theaters back in July 2017 and become a breakaway success, making over $880 million worldwide against its $175 million budget. The film, which comes from director Jon Watts, avoids the origin story that the other Spider-Man movies hinged on with their teenage Peter Parker stories. Having already made his debut in the MCU, Holland's able to jump right into, or rather swing into, Spider-Man's superhero exploits in New York City.
Homecoming finds Peter torn between his moonlighting work taking down Adrian Toomes/Vulture (Michael Keaton), who happens to be the father of his crush Liz (Laura Harrier), with his everyday existence as an average teenager. His story continues, as does his relationship with MJ (Zendaya), in the next two movies, which again aren't coming to Netflix at this time.
While all three movies likely won't be streaming together on Netflix ahead of Brand New Day's release on July 31, though the streamer has been known pull off a surprise, due to Netflix's ongoing streaming deal with Sony Pictures, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be available to stream on Netflix. The movie will arrive some months after its theatrical run and will be available on the streamer for about a year or even up to 18 months, given past Sony movies' time on the platform.
Despite the fact that only one of the three current movies will be available on Netflix, it's still more than worth checking out Homecoming when it drops. It's a great reminder of where the new MCU-integrated film series began and how Spider-Man's new era kicked off. Make sure to add the movie to your watch list at the top of July and keep your fingers crossed for Netflix to surprise us!
