Somehow, there are only two months left in 2025, and while we're all waiting for Stranger Things season 5 to drop, there are still so many exciting Netflix new releases coming just in time for the holiday season. Whether they're recent releases, former favorites, or picks that are perfect for family movie night, the movies coming in the final stretch of the year are not to be missed. There's one that's especially unmissable because it stars Academy Award-nominee Timothée Chalamet.

The actor has been known for a number of high-profile roles in the past few years, including Call Me By Your Name, the Dune movies, and his Screen Actors Guild Award-winning performance in A Complete Unknown. While a few of these movies have been available to stream on Netflix from time to time, none of these are the underrated Timothée Chalamet movie coming to Netflix in November. This one's a lot more fun, might make you dance, and will have you craving chocolate.

That's right, Wonka will be added to Netflix in November 2025. The 2023 musical fantasy film makes its debut on Netflix this fall, just in time for upcoming fall and winter breaks from school. There's no doubt Wonka will find immediate streaming success on Netflix as families and kids gather around Netflix to watch the bright, colorful, and exuberant new take on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Netflix is giving us the golden ticket to a wonderful movie night!

Wonka was first released in theaters back in December 2023 and became a box office hit, making over $630 million against its $125 million budget. Following its theatrical run, the movie made its streaming debut on HBO Max, but this will be the film's first time making its way to Netflix, arguably the most popular streaming platform. Considering the time of the year it's being added, we should definitely expect to see the movie catch a second wind of popularity.

It's an opportune time for Wonka to become available on Netflix, since both Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) both leave Netflix after Oct. 31. Halloween will be the last day to enjoy those two fan-favorite takes on Dahl's story. It's hard to beat the previous adaptations because of nostalgia. Thankfully, these removals roll right into Wonka's drop on Netflix, allowing fans to relive Chalamet's underrated family film.

Paul King directed Wonka and also wrote the story and co-wrote the screenplay with Simon Farnaby. The movie was certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 82% and earned a number of award nominations, including a Golden Globe for Chalamet's performance. According to King, a sequel has already entered early development with a draft of the script finished. Hopefully, renewed success and fandom on Netflix will help push the sequel forward in the right direction.
