There’s nothing worse than scrolling through Netflix, finally deciding what to watch, only to realize that one of your favorite shows is about to be removed. You’ve binged it, recommended it to friends, and maybe even rewatched key episodes. But like with every licensed series, nothing lasts forever.

The titles you love and the stories you’ve invested in can all disappear in the blink of an eye. That's the unfortunate reality of streaming platforms. What feels permanent today can be gone tomorrow, leaving you with nothing but memories.

This April, fans of a beloved crime drama series will have to say their goodbyes as the show will be departing Netflix. Sadly, the entire Queen of the South series will soon be removed from the streaming platform.

Queen of the South is slated to leave Netflix in April 2026

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Queen of the South's upcoming Netflix departure is actually real. The streaming giant hasn't made a big announcement about it, but it quietly added the "Leaving Soon" tag to the show's title page on the platform. Netflix doesn't do this unless a show is genuinely on its way out.

What's the exact departure date, you ask? Well, you can expect all five seasons of Queen of the South to be removed from Netflix on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Of course, this means the last day to stream the complete series on the platform is April 6. Netflix has even put up a reminder on the show's title page as well. That said, you might want to start planning your binge-watch session ASAP. April might seem far away from now, but it'll be April 7 before you know it!

It's unclear at the moment whether Queen of the South will stream elsewhere following its Netflix departure. However, we're keeping our fingers crossed that Netflix will eventually strike another deal to reacquire the streaming rights. The only way fans will be able to watch the crime drama after it leaves Netflix is by purchasing individual episodes or full seasons via digital platforms.

Created by M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller, Queen of the South is an adaptation of the Spanish-language telenovela La Reina del Sur, which itself is based on the novel The Queen of the South by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. The series reimagines the story for an English-speaking audience while maintaining the central narrative.

It revolves around the remarkable rise of Teresa Mendoza, a young woman from a poor neighborhood in Mexico, who is thrust into the violent world of drug cartels after her boyfriend is murdered. What begins as a desperate struggle for survival for Teresa quickly becomes a story of ambition, strategy, and power.

The amazingly talented Alice Braga stars in the leading role of Teresa. Joining her in the cast are other gifted actors, including Peter Gadiot, Hemky Madera, Molly Burnett, Veronica Falcon, Joaquim de Almeida, Justina Machado, Gerardo Taracena, Alfonso Herrera, Jon-Michael Ecker, Joseph T. Campos, David Andrews, and others.

Now that you know Queen of the South's official Netflix departure date, don't forget to start streaming all five seasons before it’s too late!
