There’s nothing quite as frustrating for a movie lover as finding the perfect film to watch on Netflix, only to realize it’s about to be removed. You scroll through the library, settle on a title you’ve been meaning to watch for months, and then you notice the dreaded “leaving soon” notice.
It’s a sinking feeling, one that’s become all too familiar for streaming fans. Of course, we all know this is part of the game. Licensed movies and shows aren’t permanent fixtures on Netflix. They exist on borrowed time, coming and going based on contracts, licensing agreements, and expiration dates that are often hidden from viewers.
But even when we anticipate these removals, it never gets easier. Now, that familiar moment of frustration is arriving once again. Netflix is about to say goodbye to an unsettling horror movie from 2024 that didn't exactly earn a good reputation. Can you guess which horror flick it is?
Tarot is slated to depart Netflix in February 2026

Did you guess Tarot? If so, you'd be right. Netflix has put up a removal notice on the movie's title page on the platform, which really confirms things. Tarot is set to depart the streaming service on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026. Of course, that means the last day it'll be available to stream on Netflix is Jan. 31.
This supernatural horror film has been streaming on Netflix since August 2024. That's when it was initially added, giving subscribers nearly a year and a half to watch it. When it first hit theaters in May 2024, Tarot received a poor reception, with critics and audiences alike criticizing its predictable plot, thin characters, and reliance on jump scares.
However, some audiences found it entertaining for its chaotic, over-the-top moments and creepy visuals. But if I'm being honest, I found Tarot to be a pretty solid horror film. Was it the best? No, not by any means. However, it delivered plenty of genuinely unsettling moments. I feel like many moviegoers were being a little too harsh. I mean, it's a PG-13 horror film. So, it couldn't go all out with gore or extreme scares.
Tarot was written and directed by Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg. The film follows a group of college-age friends who stumble upon a mysterious deck of tarot cards hidden in the basement of the mansion they’re renting. What begins as a harmless game quickly turns sinister when they decide to read their fortunes, ignoring the ominous warnings about the deck’s dark powers. The fortunes start coming true in horrifying and unpredictable ways, and each person begins facing terrifying events that reflect the card they drew.
The Tarot cast is made up of talented actors such as Harriet Slater, Adain Bradley, Avantika, Wolfgang Novogratz, Humberly González, Larsen Thompson, Olwen Fouéré, and Jacob Batalon.
It's unknown where Tarot will stream after its removal from Netflix. However, we do know that it will still be available to rent or purchase on digital platforms if you want to watch it after it leaves the streaming service. You can check options like Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, or Fandango at Home.
Tarot is scheduled to leave Netflix on Feb. 1. Don't forget to save the date!
