This dark new thriller series about one fatal night is climbing Netflix’s Top 10

That's the best place to look when you have absolutely no idea what to watch or when you’re scrolling endlessly and nothing seems to catch your attention. It’s where the casual viewers and binge-watchers alike find themselves pausing, noticing a title, reading a description, and thinking, Maybe this is it. Maybe this one will grab me.

As of right now, Netflix's top 10 TV shows list includes a brand-new thriller series that is turning heads and sparking conversations. It's the Spanish limited series That Night, which was just added to Netflix on March 13. It's currently holding tight to the No. 8 spot on the list, and it's drawing viewers in with its gripping plot.

A single night changes everything in That Night

Created by Jason George and based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Gillian McAllister, That Night follows three sisters on what should have been a family getaway. We follow Elena, the youngest Arbizu sister and a new mother, who is desperate for a break from her hectic life.

She convinces her middle sister, Paula, to join her, and together they travel to visit their eldest sister, Cris, in the Dominican Republic. But what begins as a chance for the sisters to reconnect and unwind quickly spirals into chaos. During a night out partying, Elena is confronted by a thief wielding a gun.

In her panic to escape, she accidentally runs him over with her car. Frightened, desperate, and worried about her infant daughter, Ane, Elena calls her sisters for help instead of contacting the authorities. What then follows is a tense and morally fraught dilemma. The sisters must decide how to handle the situation without implicating themselves, but they don’t agree on the best course of action.

As the eldest and most conscientious sister, Cris pushes to involve the police. She's determined to see justice served and to clear Elena’s name. Paula, on the other hand, discovers that the victim is a local officer and is adamant about managing the matter on their own. She fears that any official involvement could have devastating consequences for them all. In the end, the choices they decide to make on that fateful night set off a chain reaction of events that none of them could have predicted.

The sister trio is portrayed by well-known Spanish actresses in the Netflix world. You have Clare Galle playing Elena. She is best known for previously starring in the lead role of Raquel in the Through My Window film trilogy. Claudia Salas portrays the role of Paula. You might recognize her from the hit teen series Elite. Then, there's Paula Usero, playing Cris. She previously starred in the romantic drama series, The Lady's Companion.

The cast also includes Pedro Casablanc, Nüll García, Raidher Díaz, Gabriel Polanco, Alícia Falcó, Pablo Zito, and others.

As mentioned earlier, That Night is a limited series. This means the complete story is told within its six episodes. In other words, there will most likely not be a second season of this psychological thriller. That's something to keep in mind.
