Netflix's best spy thriller series will be back with a new season before we know it! Before 2025 comes to a close, Netflix made sure to provide us with some much-needed intel on Peter Sutherland's next mission. While we knew The Night Agent season 3 would be released sometime in 2026, our hopes that the episodes would drop within the first two months of the year started to fade.
However, Netflix has quickly quelled those fears by announcing the official release date for the highly anticipated new season. The Night Agent season 3 releases all 10 of its episodes on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Quite fittingly, the political thriller returns during the week of President's Day for a season that tackles government conspiracies deeper and darker than ever before in the series.
The previous season of the hit Netflix original series was released in January 2025, which allowed for fans to keep their fingers crossed that season 3 would be back in January 2026. But when Netflix filled out the first month of the new year with His & Hers, the first half of Bridgerton season 4, and a new Harlan Coben series, that effectively meant we'd be waiting a bit longer.
The Night Agent season 3 release date set for February 2026
Thankfully, we won't be waiting as long as we anticipated, which would have been sometime in March 2026. Even though there's still a bit of a wait ahead once we ring in the new year, at least The Night Agent season 3 releases sooner than we hoped. In addition to learning when the new episodes will be hitting our watch lists, Netflix also unveiled the synopsis, a teaser, and new photos.
The teaser opens with Peter entering a crowded stadium during a soccer game (or football, depending on where you are in the world). He approaches a man in the stands and instructs him to follow his lead to avoid the men chasing him and safely exit the stadium. From there, the teaser features clips of all the action and new characters contained in Peter's challenging new mission.
Check out the official season 3 synopsis shared in Netflix's press release:
"Coming off the explosive events of season 2, Night Agent Peter Sutherland is called in to track down a young Treasury Agent who fled to Istanbul with sensitive government intel after killing his boss. This kicks off a sequence of events where Peter investigates a dark money network while avoiding its paid assassins, while putting him on a collision course with a relentless journalist. Working together, they uncover buried secrets and old grudges that threaten to bring the government to its knees — and get them both killed in the process."
Aside from once again saving the world from a dangerous matter of national security, The Night Agent creator Shawn Ryan offered some insight into what Peter will be going through outside of his job as a spy in season 3: "Peter will reckon with hard truths and confront the impact of what being a Night Agent has personally cost him and how it has changed him, for better and for worse."
This marks the first season of The Night Agent without Luciane Buchanan starring as Peter's girlfriend Rose Larkin. The actress confirmed her exit from the series earlier this fall, which means Peter will likely be a bit broken hearted in season 3 due to Rose's absence. But he will be surrounded by plenty of returning and new characters that add to his mission.
Gabriel Basso once again leads the series, and the season 3 main cast also includes Louis Herthum, Stephen Moyer, Callum Vinson, David Lyons, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Jennifer Morrison, Albert Jones, Ward Horton, and Genesis Rodriguez. Before season 3 even had a release date, there have already been murmurs that Netflix is exploring a fourth season. We'll have to wait and see what happens next!
