The Hawk, Heartstopper, and the best Netflix new releases to watch this week (July 13-17)

Netflix has been having a great summer filled with great new releases. Between undeniable smash hits like Harlan Coben's I Will Find You, romantic comedies Office Romance and Voicemails for Isabelle, and the new Little House on the Prairie reboot, our watch lists have been overflowing.

But if your watch list is still packed with the latest Netflix new releases, it's time to make some room for a whole new week of must-watch titles. This week, Will Ferrell makes a major return with his first series-regular television role in the golf comedy The Hawk, and Netflix's globally adored teen romantic drama Heartstopper comes to an official end with its wrap-up movie.

What else should you add to your watch list on Netflix during the week of July 13-17, 2026? For the reality TV fans, there are some great new seasons to watch this week along with the scripted new releases, too. Here are the four biggest shows and movies coming to Netflix this week!

Quarterback season 3

Netflix's football documentary series Quarterback returns with its third season on Tuesday, July 14 with a new batch of episodes following some of the NFL's most popular quarterbacks. Just before the new football season gets underway, it's the perfect time to look back at last season.

Quarterback season 3 takes place during the 2025 NFL football season and relives moments on and off the field that fans haven't seen. This season, the docuseries follows four quarterbacks: Baker Mayfield from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jayden Daniels from the Washington Commanders, Cam Ward from the Tennessee Titans, and Joe Flacco from the Cincinnati Bengals.

As always, Quarterback tracks these four players throughout the season, providing unprecedented insight into their personal lives at home as well as during games. If you're itching for football to be back, these episodes will hold over any fan of the sport and these athletes.

The Ultimatum season 4

Love Island might be pulling focus in the reality television world right now, but Netflix will be giving our watch lists another healthy dose of drama this week. Once again, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On is back with another season full of twists and unexpected moments.

The Ultimatum season 4 premieres on Wednesday, July 15 and finds a new cast of couples will discover whether they are ready to get married or move on with a different partner. They must decide to either tie the knot or try out a new relationship with the second half of another couple.

It's going to get messy and dramatic! The Ultimatum season 4 is hosted by Love is Blind hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey and will be released in two batches. On July 15, eight episodes will be released, and the following week, the season finale and reunion episode will drop.

The Hawk

Two decades ago, Will Ferrell was the biggest movie star in comedy. The actor appeared in a vast number of movies that centered on some kind of sports theme, whether it was soccer, race car driving, basketball, or ice skating. Now, he's taking on golf.

Ferrell leads the new Netflix original comedy series The Hawk, in which he plays the former top golf star Lonnie "The Hawk" Hawkins. However, his career is starting to dry up as his son Lance (Jimmy Tatro) becomes the new star pushing him out of his career.

Lonnie looks to make a legacy-defining comeback with a splashy return to the golf scene, which we can watch when the eight-episode first season of The Hawk arrives on Netflix on Thursday, July 16. Prepare an unbelievable amount of laughs courtesy of the hilarious cast!

Heartstopper Forever

And just like that, Nick and Charlie's story is over! Rather than finishing the Heartstopper story with a fourth season, Netflix opted to instead end the series with Heartstopper Forever, the show's final chapters and a wrap-up movie to send the characters off into the sunset.

Heartstopper Forever brings back Joe Locke and Kit Connor as Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson, the young couple head over heels in love. But they are forced to grapple with the reality of being separated once Nick heads off to university, leaving them to wonder if they should call it quits.

For those who have read Alice Oseman's Nick and Charlie novella and the Heartstopper Volume 6 graphic novel, you know that pain awaits in the movie. But Heartstopper Forever will surely deliver the feel-good moments we have come to love when the movie premieres on Friday, July 17.
