Ted Danson somehow talks Mary Steenburgen into 'A Man on the Inside' Season 2

If you haven't checked out A Man on the Inside yet, that's fine. Go ahead and do that. We can wait here until you get back. Here is a not-so-secret bit, though: You will really enjoy the show. Ted Danson has a way of making things entertaining.

So does Mary Steenburgen, who is married in real life to Danson. And if you like it when real-life couples are also on the same series, whether they be in a couple or not, then you are going to love Season 2 of Danson's Netflix show.

That is because Steenburgen is set to make an appearance as a lead character in the second season. Each season, Danson's Charles will face a new criminal case that he will investigate. This is a comedy, though, so what viewers see isn't going to be some overly bloody murder. Think Murderville without the ad-lib.

Mary Steenburgen will join Ted Danson on Season 2 of A Man on the Inside

In the first season, Charles is a retiree who becomes a mole in a secret investigation. Season 2's details are still a bit under wraps, except for tidbits like Steenburgen's joining the show. According to Deadline, she will play Mona Margadoff. The character is a former musician who is somehow involved with the case Charles is looking into.

Of course, it would not be surprising to find that Charles and Mona develop feelings for each other. Maybe that would be a bit too on the nose since Danson and Steenburgen are married, but why not? Or maybe they become foes with one another.

After all, this is a tool that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has worked with for 16 seasons, and it is still magic. The off-screen relationships have no bearing on the on-screen ones, yet they somehow add an enjoyable element to the series.

Danson and Steenburgen have worked together previously. They were on an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm and on the short-lived series Ink. She has also been a guest star on many of Danson's other projects over the last couple of decades. Adding her to A Man on the Inside Season 2 simply makes sense. There is no firm release date for the second season, though.
