It's Stranger Things Day, and things are definitely strange!

In celebration of the day Will first went missing — Nov. 6, 1983 — Netflix always gives fans a little treat to ring in the occasion. Since the fifth and final season's release is still a ways out, the streamer has teased what they can about the highly anticipated season by dropping the titles of all eight episodes.

Here are all of the episode titles:

  • Episode 1: "The Crawl"
  • Episode 2: "The Vanishing of [Redacted Name]"
  • Episode 3: "The Turnbow Trap"
  • Episode 4: "Sorcerer"
  • Episode 5: "Shock Jock"
  • Episode 6: "Escape from Camazotz"
  • Episode 7: "The Bridge"
  • Episode 8: "The Rightside Up"

As you can see, the second episode of season 5 suggests a character goes missing, but in the announcement video that revealed the episode titles, what we're to assume is a character's name has been blurred out. The episode title mirrors the very first episode of the series, "The Vanishing of Will Byers." Who do we think will be vanishing this time around?

Also of note, the series finale (series finale, can you believe it?!) has the title "The Rightside Up," which is an obvious play on and nod to the Upside Down. Not to read too far into the episode's title, but maybe we can predict that Hawkins will finally receive some answers and find some sense of normalcy if these stranger things are going from the upside down to the rightside up.

In addition to unveiling the episode titles for Stranger Things season 5, Netflix also officially confirmed that the final season will be released sometime in 2025. A release window in 2025 had been assumed and mentioned here and there as production got underway, but it's reassuring to hear that we'll definitely be heading back to Hawkins sometime in the new year.

Netflix didn't elaborate on exactly when in 2025 the final season will be released, whether it's summer or fall. No quarter of the year or month was provided, but based on past release patterns for Stranger Things, we can bank on either summer or fall as the kickoff for season 5. There's also no confirmation yet on whether the season will be released in parts, but let's venture to assume the possibility is high.

Stranger Things season 5 began filming in January 2024, and as of October 2024, Finn Wolfhard shared an update that they were almost finished with production on the season. After filming wraps, the series will then go into an extensive post-production process that includes editing, special effects, dubbing, and more movie magic to prepare the episodes for our watch lists.
