Now that we have had nearly six months to think about it, Squid Game season 2 didn't seem so bad, right? Sure, some storylines seemed to go nowhere, but then we were always promised that some of the plotlines would roll into the final season.

Was it different than season 1? Of course, and it needed to be. Was it frustrating that our hero, Gi-Hun, seemed to have lost the war after the Front Man outmaneuvered him, capturing or killing all of Gi-Hun's friends? Yes.

But, surely, Squid Game is not going to leave us with an ending where the good guys don't win. Or maybe everybody loses. The great part is that anything can happen.

Netflix drops trailer for Squid Game season 3

But during Netflix Tudum Live 2025, your favorite streamer dropped a nearly two-minute trailer for Squid Game season 3, which will be released on June 27.

In it, Gi-Hun asks why he is being kept alive when he was the one who instigated the rebellion against the Front Man. There are fight scenes, and people seem still willing to fight back against their plight. There is a countdown, Gi-Hun is (for some reason) dressed in a tux, and the Front Man takes his mask off and is asked a question that implies he has lost his faith in his people.

This is all to say that we can hardly wait another month, but the final season of Squid Game is shaping up to be fantastic.
