Spellbound
Spellbound is a new Netflix original family adventure fantasy film with the voice talents of Rachel Zegler, John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Tituss Burgess, Nathan Lane, Javier Bardem, and Nicole Kidman.
The movie comes from the creators of Toy Story, the co-director of Shrek, Vicky Jenson, and The Little Mermaid EGOT-winning composer Alan Menken. Set in the magic world of Lumbria, where a magical spell has been cast over a kingdom, Princess Ellian (Zegler) must break the spell that has turned her parents (Kidman and Bardem) into giant monsters.
Mr. Peabody & Sherman
The 2014 animated Mr. Peabody & Sherman is based on characters from Peabody's Improbable History segments originally featured in The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends. This movie, produced by DreamWorks Animation, features the voice talents of Ty Burrell, Max Charles, Ariel Winter, Stephen Colbert, Leslie Mann, and Allison Janney.
The story in the film follows Mr. Peabody, a brilliant anthropomorphic dog, and his seven-year-old adopted son Sherman, who uses the WABAC machine for travel adventures. When Sherman uses the machine without permission, events unfold that threaten historical events and possibly the future.
The Secret Life of Pets
Directed by Chris Renaud, the director of Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets is a hilarious look at what pets experience when their owners leave the house. The movie features characters voiced by Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Jenny Slate, Kevin Hart, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Coogan, and Albert Brooks. It is the fifth highest-grossing original animated film of all time.
Sing
The animated musical comedy Sing is a wildly fun movie featuring an eclectic group of characters voiced by big stars: Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth MacFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly, Tori Kelly, Taron Egerton, Nick Kroll, Beck Bennett, Jay Pharoah, Leslie Jones, Laraine Newman, Peter Serafinowicz, Nick Offerman, Rhea Perlman, and Jennifer Saunders.
In a world of anthropomorphic animals, Buster Moon (McConaughey), a koala bear, owns a fledging theater threatened with foreclosure. To help save the theater, Buster hosts a singing competition featuring a long lineup of talented animals. The movie also features a fantastic soundtrack with an original Golden Globe nominated song by Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande called "Faith."
Harold and the Purple Crayon
A must see family film that takes viewers to a world where anything you draw can come to life. The movie is a sequel to Crockett Johnson's book Harold and the Purple Crayon, which stars Zachary Levi as a grown up Harold. When Harold uses his purple crayon to draw himself from page to the real world his life opens up like he never imagined. Additional cast includes Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds, Alfred Molina, and Zooey Deschanel.
