The start of a new month on Netflix is always exciting for a number of reasons, but beyond the weekly lineup of new original content from the streamer, we can also look forward to plenty of additions of past favorites and recent hits. If your watch list if ready for some fresh picks, prepare for the long list of Netflix new releases coming in August 2026.

Throughout the month of August, Netflix boasts television series additions like Fox's new hit Best Medicine and the short-lived HBO Max comedy The Sex Lives of College Girls. But if you're looking for a title that will keep you occupied for over 100 episodes and on the edge of your seat, there's no better choice than the long-running action procedural SEAL Team.

SEAL Team coming to Netflix in August 2026

Buffy the Vampire and Bones star David Boreanaz headlined the CBS procedural military drama SEAL Team, which is coming to Netflix in the United States for the first time on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026. Instead of adding a select number of seasons, which Netflix has done with some series in the past, all seven season and 114 episodes will be added at the same time.

While this is exciting news for SEAL Team fans in the United States, it's even better news for those around the world. On top of dropping on Netflix in the US, the series will also be available to watch on the platform in other international regions, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Latin America, and other territories per reporting by What's on Netflix.

Once one of the most popular, but somehow still underrated (a common occurrence in this era of television, it seems), SEAL Team finds its way to Netflix two years after the final season wrapped up its run on Paramount+ in October 2024. The military drama had a unique trajectory on the small screen as the series jumped from broadcast to streaming in the midst of a season.

Why Netflix fans should watch SEAL Team

After four episodes of SEAL Team season 5 aired on CBS, the series immediately made to the move to Paramount+ as an original for the CBS streamer with the remaining 10 episodes of that season. The series went on to release two more streaming exclusive seasons, which could be seen for the first time by those who didn't follow the series from CBS to Paramount+.

If the series had made the easy move from Paramount's broadcast network to its streamer, SEAL Team would have been right at home on Netflix. Sure, the streamer has proven that limited series are its bread and butter, but there have been a number of broadcast procedural dramas that have found incredible success, like Manifest, New Amsterdam, and SWAT.

Luckily, SEAL Team was able to finish its run on its own terms without the plug being pulled on a cliffhanger and remain closely aligned to its core audience over at Paramount. But there's little doubt that the Netflix audience, which loves action thrillers like The Night Agent, Man on Fire, FUBAR, The Recruit, and many more, will completely eat up all seven seasons when they begin streaming.

Watch SEAL Team on Netflix beginning on Aug. 18.
