Are you ready to make an escape this weekend and go on an adventure with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum? The movie star duo's underrated 2022 movie The Lost City arrived on Netflix on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 for streaming, and it's sure to shoot straight into the top 10 as movie watchers discover or rediscover the action-adventure romantic comedy.
The Lost City first hit the big screen on March 25, 2022 in the early days of the romantic comedy genre's comeback to the box office. Fueled by the star power of its A-list double billing, the movie earned both positive reception from critics and impressive commercial reception, earning a rating of 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and bringing in almost $200 million worldwide.
Throughout the month of November, Netflix has lots of exciting new releases coming, including new original Christmas romantic comedies, some Fast & Furious franchise titles, and a fan-favorite NBC comedy series. But there's no doubt that Sandra Bullock's most recent starring role should be at the top of your Netflix watch list once the movie begins streaming on Nov. 9.
The Lost City now streaming on Netflix
In The Lost City, Bullock stars as romance novel author Loretta Sage whose larger-than-life adventure books seemingly come to life when she's kidnapped by a billionaire and tasked with finding a lost city. Channing Tatum plays Alan, the cover model for her books, takes it upon himself to plan the rescue mission for Loretta, and — of course — sparks just might fly.
Here's the movie's official synopsis via Paramount:
"Loretta Sage’s novels are filled with ancient tombs and daring adventures, but that doesn’t mean she’s prepared for them in real life. When she is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire to locate a legendary lost city, Loretta's handsome cover model, Alan, sets off on a heroic but hapless rescue mission. Thrust into an epic thrill-ride through the jungle, the unlikely pair must work together to survive the elements, and survive each other, to find the city's fabled treasure before it’s lost forever."
On top of Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock and fellow major movie star Channing Tatum, the movie boasts a recognizable cast full of familiar faces. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe stars in a key role as a villainous billionaire, while Academy Award winner Da'Vine Joy Randolph plays Loretta's publisher. Brad Pitt also appears, as does The Office star Oscar Nunez and Saturday Night Live favorite Bowen Yang.

Obviously, The Lost City is an action-packed, well-liked hit movie that deserves to catch a second win by streaming on Netflix. It hasn't yet become one of either Bullock or Tatum's signature movies, or even rom-coms, but it should be up there. As the most recent Sandra Bullock movie, aside from a small role in 2022's Bullet Train, fans of the celebrated actress should definitely tune in on Netflix.
