Going into the summer months, Netflix notched another instant classic original romantic comedy with Voicemails for Isabelle, just in time for us to be laughing, crying, and feel the love in air ahead of the 4th of July holiday weekend.

In the movie, Zoey Deutch stars as a woman mourning the loss of her sister Isabelle by calling her old cell phone number and leaving messages. However, she soon begins to fall for the man who starts receiving the heartfelt and vulnerable voicemails intended for her sister, paving the way for something heartbreaking to lead to a brand new beginning.

Because of the movie's touching premise, the unique take on the rom-com tropes, and the chemistry between Deutch and Nick Robinson, Voicemails for Isabelle became the most popular movie on Netflix right after its release. With equal parts humor and tear-jerking heart, the movie left fans wanting more. But what should you watch next on Netflix? Here are three recommendations!

Champagne Problems (2025)

While you could and should queue up Zoey Deutch's hit Netflix romantic comedy Set It Up, which also stars Glen Powell, after Voicemails for Isabelle, there are some other hidden gems in Netflix's rom-com repertoire. For instance, last year's holiday-leaning romantic drama Champagne Problems.

Ransom Canyon star Minka Kelly leads Champagne Problems as an investment group executive tasked with heading to France during the holidays to land a champagne brand for her firm. During her trip, she happens to make an unexpected connection with the champagne founder's son.

Netflix marketed Champagne Problems as a romantic comedy, but it's much more dramatic than it is funny. If you're looking to have your heartstrings tugged on more than you're hoping to laugh, make sure to add this nearly forgotten seasonal treat to your watch list next.

Along for the Ride (2022)

Before Belmont Cameli brought Garrett Graham to life in Prime Video's hit college hockey series Off Campus, the actor starred in the underrated Netflix original romantic drama movie Along for the Ride. While you wait for Off Campus season 2, check out Cameli's past leading role.

Based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Dessen, Along for the Ride stars Emma Pasarow as Auden, a college-bound teen, and Belmont Cameli is Eli, a mysterious bike rider. Both have trouble sleeping and meet up at night for overnight adventures while the rest of the world snoozes away.

Along for the Ride first dropped on Netflix back in May 2022 and received middling reception from critics, but that's no reason not to rediscover what could be a great selection for a summer movie night. You'll get romance, you'll get laughs, and you'll get drama. (But you won't get hockey.)

Someone Great (2019)

Last but not least, there are so many great Netflix original movies in the romance, romantic comedy, and romantic drama genres, but there's an enduring favorite that hits all of these notes at once. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson's film Someone Great solidified Netflix's rom-com renaissance.

Gina Rodriguez stars in the film as New York City music journalist planning a movie across the country to work in San Francisco. However, on the way to her next chapter, she struggles in the aftermath of a nine-year relationship ending all of a sudden and resulting in her best friends lifting her up.

Someone Great received acclaim from critics and audiences alike and had a major impact on pop culture. Lizzo's song "Truth Hurts" ended up hitting No. 1 almost two years after it was originally released and the movie inspired Taylor Swift to write "Death By a Thousand Cuts." That's pretty iconic!
