The collaboration between Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben is the gift that keeps on giving. After joining forces to co-author the best-selling thriller novel Gone Before Goodbye, Witherspoon and Coben are extending their creative collaborative efforts to include their very first joint television series at Netflix. But it's not a series adaptation of their novel (yet, at least).

Netflix revealed that the streamer scored the rights to best-selling author Emily Giffin's 2018 novel All We Ever Wanted for a series adaptation that's currently in development. Witherspoon executive produces with Lauren Neustadter for Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine banner, Coben executive produces for Final Twist Productions, and Nicola Shindler for Quay Street Productions.

Witherspoon and Coben are no stranger to crafting twisty drama series that everyone loves watching, as Coben's collection of limited series on Netflix have been some of the most popular on the streamer (and the list will continue to grow next year). Of course, Witherspoon has produced and starred in some massive streaming hits, like Big Little Lies and The Morning Show.

As executive producers of All We Ever Wanted, we're sure to get the best of both worlds from the creative masterminds as they bring Giffin's pages to the screen. Jessica Goldberg acts as the showrunner for the series, which has so far been described as "soapy and scandalous" by Netflix and promises to also be sexy, thrilling, and a binge-able fan-favorite in the making.

Take a closer look at the full synopsis for All We Ever Wanted as shared in Netflix's press release: "A soapy and scandalous drama that uncovers the secrets and class struggles of a wealthy suburb, where a torrid love affair between a 'have' Mom and 'have-not' single Dad threatens to expose the sins and lies of all of those around them." Who else is already hooked from the description alone?

If you haven't yet read Giffin's book, now's your chance to add it to your reading list to read it before the series comes to fruition. Netflix hasn't revealed a release timeframe since the adaptation is only in development right now and hasn't been officially picked up. Being so, there are no casting announcements to be made for the male and female lead characters.

All We Ever Wanted marks the first series adaptation of Giffin's novels. The author's 2011 book Something Borrowed was turned into a romantic comedy movie starring Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin. Witherspoon and Coben taking at stab at producing a series adaptation together hopefully lays the groundwork for the powerhouses to eventually bring their book to the screen, too.
