The latest thrilling update? Emmy-nominated Baby Reindeer star Nava Mau is set to join the cast in an exciting guest role! According to Deadline, Mau will play Detective Marquez in the fifth and final season of Netflix’s hit series, You. This new character could potentially cross paths with Penn Badgley’s infamous Joe Goldberg, adding even more intrigue to the mix.

For those who might not instantly recognize her, Nava Mau made history with her role as Teri in Baby Reindeer, becoming the first transgender woman ever to be nominated for an Emmy in the supporting actress in a limited or anthology series or movie category.

As this is the final season, there's potential for other characters from Joe’s past to pop up, though no official announcements have been made yet. During a previous Tudum: A Global Fan Event, Penn Badgley hinted that the upcoming season will be addressing many "loose ends" from Joe's past, so we can expect some surprises.

When is You season 5 coming to Netflix?

Unfortunately, the official release date for You season 5 is still a mystery! Filming began in March and is set to wrap up by early August, as per DigitalSpy. Considering typical production timelines and the gaps between previous seasons, we can only speculate that the earliest we might see You season 5 is late 2024.

However, there’s also a fair chance it could arrive sometime in 2025 instead. Given Netflix’s recent trend of split releases, it’s also likely they’ll roll out the season in two batches.
