You don't have to wait long to watch The Tourist season 2 on Netflix

The Tourist season 1 is now available to watch on Netflix, and it's one of the top shows streaming on the platform at the moment. Tons of people are watching the mystery-thriller series, and since its first season only consists of six episodes, it doesn't take long to finish it. So what about a second season? Well, there is a The Tourist season 2 coming to Netflix very soon. How soon? We're talking in a couple of weeks soon. No worries! We shared the release date and more below.

The Tourist is an Australian television series. Its first season was helmed by Chris Sweeney and Daniel Nettheim from scripts written by Harry and Jack Williams. For the second season, Harry and Jack took over writing duties again with Kate Dolan, Lisa Mulcahy, and Fergus O'Brien directing this time.

While the show was initially a Max original series and was renewed for a second season, the streaming giant ultimately decided to drop the mystery-thriller. But luckily, Netflix swooped in and decided to pick it up so fans will soon get to see the second season. This pick-up also included the first season.

The first season follows an Irish man, who after a terrifying car chase, ends up in a rural Australian hospital with no recollection of who he is and why people are after him. With the help of Helen, a cop-in-training, the man must quickly find out his identity before his past catches up with him. Heart of Stone actor Jamie Dornan stars in the leading role as the Irish man. Danielle Macdonald, Victoria Haralabidou, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Greg Larsen, and many others join him in the cast.

The Tourist season 2 is set to be released on Netflix on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, and will follow the Irish man who we now know as Elliot as he and Helen travel to Ireland to learn more about his identity. But they'll soon find themselves entangled in a longstanding family feud.

We're introduced to many new characters this season as well such as Detective Ruairi Slater (Conor MacNeill), Niamh Cassidy (Olwen Fouéré), Donal (Diarmaid Murtagh), Orla (Nessa Matthews), Fergal (Mark McKenna), and Frank (Francis Magee).

Like the first season, The Tourist season 2 will consist of six episodes. You can expect them to all drop on Feb. 29 at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET. This is the usual time that Netflix releases new content on its platform. In addition, if you're in the Central time zone, you're looking at a release time of 2:00 a.m. CT on this date.
