Worst Roommate Ever offshoot Worst Ex Ever coming to Netflix in August
After the massive success of the true-crime docuseries Worst Roommate Ever, Netflix has decided to order a new series from the same creators titled Worst Ex Ever. More on this upcoming true-crime docuseries below.
It's not surprising that the streaming giant decided to give a series order to Worst Ex Ever. Worst Roommate Ever has seen much success since its premiere back in March 2022. Its highly anticipated second season just recently dropped in June, and it is still currently ranking on Netflix's top 10 list at the No. 7 spot. There's even a rumor that the show has been secretly renewed for a third season. That being said, it was pretty much a no-brainer for Netflix to work with the show creators again to make a new series.
Cynthia Childs directs Worst Ex Ever with Blumhouse Television and ITV America signed on as the production companies behind the series. In addition, Childs, Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Gretchen Palek, and Jordana Hochman are executive producers.
Like Worst Roommate Ever season 2, the first season of Worst Ex Ever consists of four episodes that are about 60 minutes each. The complete season is slated to be released on Netflix on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024. You can expect the new episodes to drop in your Netflix account at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on this date. That's the usual time that Netflix releases new content on its platform.
The chilling true-crime docuseries examines the most disturbing stories of "monstrous past relationships" while also featuring testimonials, real bodycam footage, and animated reenactments. Additionally, it marks the first television franchise for Blumhouse Television, with its film division known for being behind hit horror movies like Insidious, M3GAN, Five Nights at Freddy’s and The Black Phone.
