Which Heartbreak High original cast member appears in season 2 of the Netflix reboot?

In Heartbreak High season 2, it's a brand new term at Hartley High, and it's more chaotic than ever. Amerie is vying for school captain while dealing with a mysterious stalker and relationship troubles. Meanwhile, Harper struggles with her upcoming trial against Ca$h and the Eshays. Then, there's Darren, who is also going through relationship troubles, and Quinni, whose obsession with hunting down the mysterious stalker is spinning out of control. The rest of the students also have their own fair share of drama this season.

There are also some fresh faces in season 2, such as new student Rowan, Head of P.E. Voss, and celibacy advocate Zoe. But what shocked us the most while watching the latest season was the surprise guest appearance by a cast member from the original series. This person briefly appears in Heartbreak High season 2, but we immediately recognized them.

Spoilers ahead from Heartbreak High season 2!

The surprise cameo was from none other than talented Australian actress Lara Cox, who played Anita Scheppers in the Heartbreak High original series. She became a series regular on the '90s teen series starting in its fifth season and continued to reprise her role until the show's ending in its seventh season. Anita was the stubborn younger sister of Ryan Scheppers and a student at Hartley High in the original series. She was romantically involved with other Hartley students, such as Drazic, Charlie, and Kurt.

In the Heartbreak High reboot series, Anita appears in the third episode of season 2 titled "The Feelings Pit." Amerie and the rest of the school captain candidates attend a fundraising event where they compete to obtain funding from an organization called "The Sydney Inter-Outer East Women's Association." One of the women in attendance at the event is Anita.

As Amerie looks for someone to network with from the organization, she bumps into Anita, who compliments her on her outfit. She thinks Anita is a member of the organization and hopes that she can persuade her to back her school captain campaign. But during their entire conversation, Anita never introduces herself to Amerie. She does make a comment about her being a former Hartley student, though. While new viewers might not know who this character is, fans of the original series will instantly know that it's Anita.

During their conversation, Anita helps Amerie with her relationship troubles. But as the event comes to a close, she informs her that she won't be able to provide funding for her campaign because she's "broke." Also, she basically tells Amerie that she's not a member of the organization and is just a guest who tagged along with a friend for the free alcohol. After this conversation, that's the last we see of Anita in the teen series.

It would've been nice if Lara Cox could've appeared in at least one more episode of season 2 or had more screen time in the third episode. I wanted to know what Anita had been up to since the last time we saw her in the original series. But I guess this small cameo will have to do.
