Have you checked out We Were the Lucky Ones yet? The show's first three episodes are now streaming, and everyone's talking about what happened in them. Sadly, it's not a Netflix original, so the new episodes are not streaming on Netflix. Instead, it's a Hulu original series, so you can find it on Hulu. Many more episodes are set to be released, so you might want to make your way to Hulu as soon as possible and watch the first three episodes.

What is We Were the Lucky Ones about?

We Were the Lucky Ones is a historical drama series that was adapted from the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Georgia Hunter. It's inspired by the touching true story of a Jewish family that was separated at the start of WWII. Set in 1939, the show follows a Polish Jewish family called the Kurcs. A year prior, the Kurc family was living a relatively peaceful life in Radom, Poland, not knowing that only a year later, WWII would happen and they'd all be separated. While away from each other, they do everything they can to survive with hopes that one day they'll be reunited.

Emmy-nominated actress Joey King stars in the role of Halina Kurc, one of the daughters in the Kurc family. She is best known for starring as the main character, Elle Evans, in Netflix's The Kissing Booth trilogy. She also starred as Gypsy-Rose Blanchard in Hulu's crime drama series The Act. We'll see her next in two Netflix movies: A Family Affair and The Uglies.

American actor Logan Lerman stars as Addy Kurc, one of the sons in the Kurc family who was a successful musician before WWII. You might recognize Lerman from playing the titular character in the Percy Jackson film series. He also starred as Charlie Kelmeckis in the romantic drama film The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Some of his other acting work was roles in the movies Noah and Fury. He also played the role of Jonah Heidelbaum in the conspiracy drama series Hunters.
