Netflix seems to be vying for viewers' top streaming choice, as yet again the streaming giant has delivered a knockout with its latest addition, Warrior -- an action-packed drama that's based on the original series concept by the late martial arts master, and movie star, Bruce Lee.
Warrior is set during the Tong Wars in 1870 San Francisco and follows the story of Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy from China who immigrates to San Francisco in search of his sister and becomes involved in the violent conflicts involving the Tongs, which were Chinese American secret societies that also functioned as criminal organizations. The official synopsis, as per IMDb, reads:
"During the Tong Wars in the late 1800s, Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy from China, immigrates to San Francisco and becomes a hatchet man for the most powerful tong in Chinatown."
