Virgin River season 6 leak hints at new characters, long-awaited milestone
By Reed Gaudens
From the second Virgin River season 5 ended with its holiday episodes in November 2023, devoted fans have been counting down the days until Virgin River season 6 premieres. That's hard to do without an actual release date yet, but series star Martin Henderson has recently said the season's "close to wrapping up." New leaks suggest the end of the season will have a huge event.
A few quick Virgin River fans caught onto photos from set that were posted by a rumored new cast member and reposted them on fan accounts on Instagram. Each of those posts has since been deleted due to the fact that they likely contained spoilers from season 6, but once something's out there, it's out there. From this point forward, we'll be referencing the spoiler-ish details.
In one of the photos posted in the Virgin River subreddit, Henderson and Zibby Allen pose with two new series guest stars, Erin Kathleen Boyes and Gigi Neil, who have been alleged to play two of Jack and Brie's sisters. If you'll remember, their sister Mary was supposed to join the family Christmas festivies with her family, but they all came down with an illness and couldn't make the trip.
Due to the cast members' attire in the photos, including Jack's Marine uniform, fans are predicting that the cast has filmed Mel and Jack's wedding in the last two episodes of the season. In another leaked photo seemingly taken by Boyes, she poses with Mark Ghanimé, who plays Cameron in the series. He's also in wedding-friendly clothing, wearing a lavender-gray suit.
According to The Viewer's Perspective, the wedding could in fact take place on Mel and Jack's new home that they acquired in season 5. The site reports that the alleged wedding scenes were filmed at a property on the Martini Acres farmland in the Martini Film Studios lot in British Columbia. Who else can't wait to see what Mel and Jack's new house looks like?!
Beyond the aforementioned two newcomers to the cast, season 6 also has apparently added Jayce Barriero as Roy Green, Ese Atawo as Clara, and Rachel Drance as Marley Thurston. Beyond these actor names and character names, there are no additional details as Netflix hasn't officially announced these cast members and characters.
