Even though he will no longer be your Geralt in The Witcher season 4, you'll still be able to find Henry Cavill on Netflix... just in one of his older movies. No, his Superman movies aren't coming to Netflix (though that wouldn't be a surprising development). The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Cavill's first collaboration with director Guy Ritchie, is now streaming on Netflix as of July 27, 2024.

The film, which was released back in August 2015, was based on the drama series of the same name that aired on NBC from 1964 to 1968. In the movie, Cavill plays Napoleon Solo, an American CIA agent who begrudgingly teams up with a KGB agent in order to thwart a criminal organization from deploying nuclear weapons and rattling the delicate power balance during the Cold War.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. movie is now on Netflix

Although The Man from U.N.C.L.E. earned mixed but somewhat positive reviews and holds a 68% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the film struggled at the box office bringing in almost $110 million worldwide against an estimated $75 million budget. Those numbers were enough for most to write off the spy remake as a box office bomb, but hey, some people still seemed to enjoy it!

In spite of the tepid commercial response, there have been rumors flying since its release about a potential sequel, though nothing has quite come to fruition just yet. Cavill and Ritchie recently collaborated again on a new film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and with its return to Netflix this summer, perhaps a resurgence could help propel the next chapter of U.N.C.L.E.

Apart from Henry Cavill in the leading role, the movie also stars:

  • Armie Hammer as Illya Kuryakin
  • Alicia Vikander as Gaby Teller
  • Elizabeth Debicki as Victoria Vinciguerra
  • Sylvester Groth as Uncle Rudi
  • Christian Berkel as Udo Teller
  • Luca Calvani as Alexander Vinciguerra
  • Misha Kuznetsov as Oleg
  • Jared Harris as Adrian Sanders
  • Hugh Grant as Alexander Waverly

If you're looking for even more Henry Cavill on Netflix, you can also watch him in both Enola Holmes movies as well as the first three seasons of The Witcher. He also co-stars in the 2017 Netflix original war movie Sand Castle. For more Guy Ritchie, make sure to check out the critically acclaimed series The Gentlemen, based on his film of the same name, which is also currently on Netflix.

As mentioned above, Cavill starred in Ritchie's 2024 war film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which also starred a number of frequent Ritchie collaborators, including Eiza González and Henry Golding. Cavill will next appear in the 2025 action film In the Grey, which was also written and directed by Guy Ritchie. See, they're really hitting a streak of working together, so you never know what could happen.

When The Man from U.N.C.L.E. begins streaming on Netflix on July 27, one year before it's 10th anniversary, plenty of fans and new viewers are likely to rediscover the movie. You can't go wrong with spy movies, especially ones with a pop culture connection. There's one glaring downside in the cast (you get one guess), but it's still an underrated starring role for Cavill and a great pick for movie night.
