It's summer break, and the kids are likely stuck at home bored out of their minds. When they're not enjoying outdoor activities or spending time with friends and family, you're probably looking for something to do as a family at home. Thankfully, Netflix has an incredible selection for family movie night in July.

Since the beginning of summer, a number of family-friendly movies like Shrek, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Home, The Lego Batman Movie, and so many more have taken up residence in the top 10 most popular movies ranking. Throughout July, a few more big titles are coming.

Trolls Band Together

Over the years, the Trolls movies have been hits on Netflix, and the film franchise's first movie is still available to watch on the streamer. On July 15, the most recent third movie, Trolls Band Together, will be released for streaming on Netflix. The movie was released in theaters in November 2023 and follows Poppy (Anna Kendrick) as she attempts to reunite Branch (Justin Timberlake) with his brothers and former BroZone boyband members. Trolls Band Together also features the voices of Eric André, Kid Cudi, Daveed Diggs, Andrew Rannells, Amy Schumer, Troye Sivan, Kenan Thompson, Camila Cabello, and *NSYNC.

Paw Patrol: The Movie

On July 1, Paw Patrol: The Movie landed on Netflix, and that's either good or bad news. It's good news for the little ones who adore Paw Patrol, but it might be bad news for the parents who might be a little bit over Paw Patrol being on the television 24/7. Well, learn to love it a while longer! The first feature film of the hit Nickelodeon cartoon hit theaters in August 2021 and features the voices of Iain Armitage, Marsai Martin, Yara Shahidi, Kim Kardashian, Randall Park, Dax Shepard, Tyler Perry, Jimmy Kimmel, and Will Brisbin. A sequel, Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, was released in 2023, and a third movie will be released in 2026.

The Imaginary

For the younger anime fans in your house, The Imaginary with set their imagination ablaze with a bittersweet and enchanting adventure. The new movie director by the animator of Spirited Away premieres on Netflix on July 5 and follows forgotten imaginary friends as they end up in a land on their own. Not only will the youngsters enjoy watching the creative journey of Amanda and her imaginary friend Rudger, but parents and older siblings will without question appreciate the touching and emotinal storytelling that explores themes like love and loss.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

Growing up, a lot of us loved the book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. There was something about the picture book and all of the food falling from the sky like rain that was so captivating as a child. Cut to 2009 and the movie adaptation finally hit the big screen in a larger-than-life animated spectacular featuring the voices of Bill Hader and Anna Faris. In 2013, a sequel was released and achieved similar commercial and critical success of the first movie, and a potential third movie already has a script. The sequel dropped on Netflix on July 1, and it's an excellent option for family movie night this month.

Minions

Despicable Me 4 hit theaters for the Fourth of July weekend, and there's no doubt that fans of the franchise will flock to the theaters to check out the latest installment. While you can't catch up on the first three Despicable Me movies on Netflix this month, the spinoff movie Minions is available to watch and has swooped into the top 10. The blockbuster prequel movie was released in 2015 and spawed the 2022 sequel Minions: The Rise of Gru. Surely, neither of these movies will be the last we've seen of the hilarious little yellow creatures.
