Archery, skydiving, gun-wielding, grappling from ledges, leaping off of motorcycles in motion, sliding down sand downs into scary caverns...yes, the iconic tomb raider and archaeologist Lara Croft is back in Netflix's new anime series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.
On June 1, the streaming service revealed that the series will debut this fall on October 10. We also got a new teaser and photo showcasing Lara in all her glory as she wields some sort of sword/rope-dart weapon.
The latest teaser, like the previous one, still doesn't give much away regarding the plot, but we know it's set in the same continuity as the reboot trilogy of video games that started in 2013, followed by Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Today, Netflix did share some more details, adding that Lara's latest adventure will see her embarking on "increasingly more perilous solo adventures" that force her to return home when a thief steals a powerful Chinese artifact from Croft manor.
Here's the official description from Netflix:
"Following the events of the 'Survivor' series, Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become."
As we previously reported, The Legend of Lara Croft showrunner Tasha Huo hopes to use the anime to unify the Tomb Raider timelines, merging the reboot continuity with the older games and creating an incarnation of Lara that fits more with her TR1 personality.
Casting-wise, the anime will feature MCU star Hayley Atwell as the voice of the titular heroine, replacing Camilla Luddington who voiced the character in all three Survivor trilogy video games. Other cast members include Allen Maldonado as Zip and Earl Baylon reprising his role as Jonah Maiava from the games. Additional voices will be announced at a later date.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft releases Oct. 10 exclusively on Netflix. Stay
