Rodriguez plays the leading character, a New York-based sportswriter who has spent the bulk of her career creating foolproof hook-up "plays" alongside her best friend Adam (Damon Wayans Jr.). As luck would have it, a handsome and charming war correspondent (Ellis) crosses her path and makes Mack rethink everything.

Pitch Perfect 3 director Trish Sie directs Players with a script written by Whit Anderson (Ozark, Daredevil).
