They'll Never Catch Us series adaptation in the works at Netflix
New York Times bestselling author Jessica Goodman is teaming up with Netflix to have her thriller novel They'll Never Catch Us turned into a television series for the platform. More on this below.
Originally published in July 2021, the thriller book centers around two completely opposite sisters named Stella and Ellie Steckler, who are both competing for the top spot on their high school women’s cross-country team. But when a new girl named Mila comes to town and joins the team, these competitive sisters soon find their lives turned upside down when she goes missing, and all eyes are on them.
The Netflix TV adaptation is currently in development, with Goodman and Juliet Lashinsky-Reveneare co-writing the scripts. They are also executive producing the thriller series alongside Blumhouse Television. However, a director hasn't signed on yet.
Besides They'll Never Catch Us, Goodman has published three other young adult thrillers: They Wish They Were Us, The Counselors and The Legacies. All of her novels have been translated into 14 languages. They Wish They Were Us, which is Goodman's debut novel, is actually in the process of being adapted into a television series called The Player’s Table with Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney and singer-songwriter Halsey starring. You can buy all of Goodman's books on Amazon as a paperback, hardcover, or eBook. For example, you can purchase They'll Never Catch Us as a paperback on Amazon for $8.99 before taxes.
Lashinsky-Reveneare, on the other hand, is best known for previously writing for the TV shows Dirty John and Law & Order: Organized Crime. She still serves as a supervising producer on the NBC crime drama, though.
