The Program: Cons, Cults and Kidnapping is an upcoming Netflix docuseries that navigates the stories of victims who were labeled "problem children" during their youth and, as a result, were enrolled in a corrective school. The school was supposed to look out for them, ensuring that they became the best versions of themselves, but it was soon revealed that the kids were abused horribly by the adults of the program.

Years later, the victims are revealing the truth behind these programs that sell false promises to society. Here's what's in store for you when you tune in.

The Program: Cons, Cults and Kidnapping will leave you speechless

As previously mentioned, The Program: Cons, Cults and Kidnapping showcase the dark side of disciplinary schools. The kids experiencing this schooling first-hand know the process to be cruel and unusual. But, more times than not, the parents are also victims after being led to believe that their children are put in programs that help train them on the right path. What's more, since the program is long-term, the parents simply can't come to the school and take their children out of enrollment.

However, there are a few occasions where the parents don't get off scot-free.

Director Katherine Kubler is ready to expose that, coupled with abusive higher-ups and exhausted parents, these disciplinary schools are often a recipe for disaster. But there are a few to little schools as bad as The Academy at Ivy Ridge.

Here's the official synopsis for the Netflix docuseries below:

"No talking. No smiling. No going outside. The Academy at Ivy Ridge claimed to use therapy and recreational activities to help troubled teens. Instead, teens suffered mental and physical abuse in a program that operated like a cult. In this gripping investigative docuseries, a filmmaker and other former students recall their horrific experiences attending a disciplinary school and expose the horrors of the troubled teen industry."
