WARNING: Major spoilers ahead from The Perfect Couple episode 6.

After Tag's public drunken outburst in the previous episode, the situation has gone viral online and Greer's in a public relations crisis. They plan to tell everyone that Tag has a drinking problem and will check himself into a program to receive help.

Relationship problems are going around, but not for Amelia and Benji who have seemed to patched things up but aren't getting back together. Thomas leaves early to "go for a run," but Abby lies in bed not particularly believing her husband. Of course, he meets Isabel at the Sand Dollar, and after their hookup, she asks him for her money. When he's later confronted by Abby, he denies his affair.

Amelia learns from Greer that Merritt had barbiturates in her system at the time of her death and shoots down suggestion that Merritt was a recreational drug user. Amelia seems to realize something, but the Winbury house is rocked when Carter and Henry arrive to take Greer in for questioning and remove her computer and other belongings.

Greer's secrets come to light

Right off the bat, Carter and Henry confront Greer with Broderick Graham and their belief that she hired him with Shooter's money to kill Merritt. In fact, they're sure that this is what happened and that they have finally cracked the case. Greer maintains her and Shooter's innocence without giving anything away.

At first, Greer claims that Broderick was an "old associate" who was desperate for money, and she leaned on Shooter for a loan. The cops are trying to make sense of the late night call to Broderick as well as Greer's close relationship with Shooter. Next up, the cops bring in Broderick as a surprise, and that's when the truth comes out.

Greer admits that Broderick is her brother and she needed the $300,000 to pay off a debt for his gambling addiction. With that revelation, they are free to go. Greer and Broderick return home, and the secrets continue to spill out. No one saw the brother reveal coming, but that's not all Greer has up her sleeve.

She's tired of living a lie and decides to admit to her family and team that she and Tag didn't meet at a gallery opening. Rather, the pair met at a bar where Greer was working as an escort, sleeping with men for money. Broderick organized Greer's clientele, one of whom was Tag. She's done with living the lie, keeping Tag's secrets, and cleaning up everyone's messes. Now she's liberated and writing a book about this truth.

Thomas stole a pill from Amelia's mom

After Greer's detained, Amelia talks with her parents and the mention of Merritt having barbiturates in her system sparks a realization in her mother. Karen discovers that she's missing one of her three barbiturate pills hidden in her medication bag.

Bruce, Amelia's father, informs Amelia that her mother had brought three pills for euthanasia and one is missing. They take the information to the cops with Benji's support. Karen admits that the pills were a security blanket in the event her cancer condition worsened.

Amelia and Benji tell the cops anyone in the house could have had access to the pills, especially since Thomas likes to steal pills and play prescription roulette. As we saw in the beginning of the series, the family mixes up pills and takes one at random.

However, one of Karen's barbiturate pills would not have been strong enough to kill Merritt. It would have only been enough to knock her unconscious. Amelia confronts Thomas about stealing the pill, which he tries to deny but he definitely did. He's taken in for questioning while Abby suspiciously cleans the drawer of their bedside table.

As he tells Carter and Henry, Thomas believed the pill from Karen was oxy and kept it for himself. He didn't give it to Merritt or mix it up with the roulette stash. He explains to the cops that he took his grandfather's guns to the beach to scare Merritt and threaten her to have an abortion. But Isabel stopped him before he fired.

Thomas believes Isabel killed Merritt over money. The Winbury trust is released once the youngest member of the family turns 18. Will turns 18 imminently, which will release the trust. However, if Merritt were to have Tag's baby, the trust would be locked up for another 18 years and then be split four ways instead of three. Isabel then wouldn't receive her $2 million from Thomas for many more years.

Abby killed Merritt... Here's how and why

Isabel denies killing Merritt for money because she was never expecting to be paid by Thomas (even though she was asking for a payment, which is kind of confusing). In fact, at the time of Merritt's death, Isabel was having sex with Thomas... and there's video proof.

Henry comes to a realization about Abby from Gosia's interview. The maid said that Thomas didn't sleep in their bed on the night of the murder, but Abby lied and said he did. Gosia speaks of how demanding Abby is about washing her sheets, clothes, and a water glass. Henry remembers that Abby was washing a glass the morning Merritt was found. She wonders if that's the glass the barbiturate was in.

Forensics found tallow on Merritt's hair shaft, which Abby earlier explained was an ingredient in the off-market lotion she uses. Henry has a conversation with Abby while she waits for Thomas to finish processing. She asks about the money Isabel loaned Thomas and presses for information. Abby isn't forthcoming, but she does reveal a spite for Isabel and her cheating ways.

Thomas returns home and explains his theory about Isabel and the trust to Benji, Greer, Amelia, and Will, but Greer's beginning to wonder about Abby. Just then, Carter and Henry arrive to arrest Abby for Merritt's murder, and she's furious.

Flashing back to the night of the murder, Abby applies her lotion and watches on the balcony as Isabel and a drunk Thomas walk off the beach and Merritt stumbles over broken glass. She steals the pill, crushes it into some juice, and meets Merritt on the beach. Abby talks about not being able to trust men to "get the job done."

Merritt drinks the juice and joins Abby for a swim in the ocean. She becomes instantly woozy and falls into the ocean. Abby holds Merritt's head underwater until she drowns and dies. She walks out of the water without emotion. Abby killed Merritt, clear as day.

Now, Abby's motive is a little bit murky, but it's all about Thomas. Killing Merritt was over the money, of course, likely because Abby saw Thomas about to shoot Merritt (which wasn't actually his plan) over the trust. He needed the money to pay Isabel back, and Abby knew that. As she said to Merritt, you can't trust a man to get the job done, you have to do it yourself... and she did. Obviously, until the end, Abby covered her tracks very well and everyone else's secrets made them look guilty. If Isabel had taken the fall, Abby would have called that two birds with one stone.

Greer and Amelia have one last encounter

With the murder investigation behind them, Greer decides to leave for the city to write her next book and Tag will stay back in Nantucket. It's unclear what the state of their relationship is and what their future holds. Amelia and her parents leave Nantucket just as Isabel arrives in search of Thomas.

Six months later, Amelia's working with penguins at a zoo in London when Greer drops by to visit her. Amelia isn't expecting to see Greer, since she likely hasn't spoken to the Winburys since leaving Nantucket. Greer arrives with a manuscript for a new book that's about Amelia, and she will only give it to her publishers with Amelia's blessing. The book is dedicated to "absent friends and hopefully, to new ones."

Greer admits that even though she was angry with Amelia about everything, she realizes that she was jealous of her. Why? Well, Amelia will have to read the book, titled Your Move, to find out those answers. Greer parts with a proposition to have dinner if Amelia doesn't hate the book. She hopes to catch up. Amelia drops the manuscript on a nearby rock and continues working.
